AMSA Lincoln achieved a significant national milestone during the 42nd General Annual Meeting of the Asian Medical Students’ Association Malaysia (AMSA Malaysia), held at the UKM Cheras Campus on 15 November 2025, where it was awarded University of the Year Nationwide for the 2024/2025 tenure.
Competing among 21 major universities across Malaysia, AMSA Lincoln distinguished itself through consistent excellence and active participation in academic initiatives, community service projects, public health advocacy, and inter-university collaborations throughout the year. In addition to this institutional achievement, the University Representative of the Year award was also presented to M. Khaled Hamwi, highlighting strong leadership and national representation.
During the meeting, AMSA Lincoln’s activities over the past year were formally presented, showcasing the organisation’s broad impact and sustained engagement across multiple domains. This presentation, delivered by M. Khaled Hamwi, Founder, President, and University Representative of AMSA Lincoln for the 2024/2025 tenure, was accompanied by an official application to upgrade AMSA Lincoln’s status from a temporary observer to a full permanent member of AMSA Malaysia.
Following the announcement of the voting results, AMSA Lincoln has officially been upgraded to a full permanent member of AMSA Malaysia. Looking ahead, the society anticipates continued progress under the upcoming 2025/2026 committee, with a shared commitment to further strengthening Lincoln University College’s presence and reputation at both national and international levels.
These achievements would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Lincoln University College, the medical faculty, AMSA Lincoln board members, and its dedicated students, whose collective efforts continue to drive excellence and meaningful impact within the medical student community.
