AMSA Lincoln Hosts First Intervarsity Chess Competition at Lincoln MAS Campus

The Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) International is a well-known organisation that represents medical students across Asia involving Asia-Pacific region, and beyond, with members from 29 countries. Under AMSA Malaysia. AMSA Lincoln was created and commenced in November 2024 by a final-year medical student M. Khaled Hamwi. A full support was received from the Faculty of Medicine and Lincoln University College (LUC) management.
In just six months, AMSA Lincoln has organised several successful events. On 19th April 2025, we hosted our very first Intervarsity Chess Competition at MAS Campus. Students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Monash University Malaysia responded to our invitation and participated in this exciting event.

The competition was a great success, and we received a very positive feedback from all participants. The event not only offered a fun and competitive activity but also helped students to develop useful interpersonal skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and stress management. It also gave students from different universities a chance to communicate, build friendships, and enjoy teamwork outside the classroom.
