LUC Faculty of Applied Science Visited Beryl’s Chocolate Factory for Industrial Exposure

On August 23, 2024, the faculty members from the Faculty of Applied Science, Lincoln University College, Malaysia accompanied by students from the Bachelor of Biotechnology (Hons), MSc Biotechnology, and the China Mobility Program, conducted an industrial visit to Beryl’s Chocolate Factory in Seri Kembangan.

The faculty team included Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Asita Elengoe (Head of the Department), Mrs. Hema Priyaa (Lecturer-in-Charge), Dr. Tan Chun Hoe, Dr. Rathimalar Ayakannu, and Dr. Erlina binti Abdullah.

During the visit, participants toured the Cocoa Tree and received a comprehensive introduction to cocoa bean processing, chocolate production, quality control, hygiene standards, and sustainability practices. The visit also featured an interactive chocolate tasting session, enhancing the learning experience with practical exposure.
