Malaysia’s Premier Running Event

KLSCM is Malaysia’s premier distance-running event, organised by Dirigo Events. In 2026, 43,800 participants from 53 countries registered. The races started and finished at Dataran Merdeka, passing through the heart of Kuala Lumpur, with categories ranging from 1 km, 2 km, 5 km and 10 km on 3 October to the 21 km Half Marathon and 42 km Full Marathon on 4 October.

Students on the Front Line of Care

A total of 39 students took part on 3 October and 118 students on 4 October. They served as medical standby, assisting the medical team with first aid, monitoring runners, identifying participants who needed medical attention, supporting basic emergency response, and referring patients to the right medical team when needed. Eight LUC lecturers accompanied and guided the students across the two days.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

For our students, KLSCM offered real experience of healthcare delivery in a large public event: working in a team, communicating under pressure, responding to emergencies and caring for people from many backgrounds. It also strengthened our links with Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and IHH Healthcare Malaysia.

Ready for action beside the ambulances

The activity supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through runner safety and emergency preparedness, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through hands-on learning, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration with Pantai Hospital, IHH Healthcare and the event organisers.

Thank You

Lincoln University College thanks Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and IHH Healthcare Malaysia for the opportunity, the organisers of KLSCM, and all the students and lecturers who gave their time and care so that thousands of runners could run safely.
