The School of Health & Applied Science, Lincoln University College, successfully conducted the HRDC Professional Healthcare Development Short Course on Mental Health Literacy on 20 July 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall.
The programme was led by Dr. Smitha Madhavan, Dean of the School of Health & Applied Science and Mental Health Educator, bringing together healthcare professionals, educators, and participants for a full day of interactive learning focused on promoting mental wellbeing and mental health awareness.
Throughout the programme, participants explored key areas including the foundations of mental health, mental health assessment, psychosocial care, mental health promotion and rehabilitation, management of common mental health disorders, and leadership in evidence-based mental healthcare.
The interactive sessions encouraged open discussions, knowledge sharing, and practical learning experiences that equipped participants with valuable skills to recognise mental health challenges and promote healthier workplaces and communities.
