On April 6, 2025, Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, Founder & President, Lincoln University College, Malaysia, led a delegation to visit Quanzhou Ocean Vocational College, China. The two sides reached a strategic cooperation intention in the fields of artificial intelligence, ship engineering and sustainable development and formally signed a memorandum of cooperation, opening a new chapter in the international cooperation between the two schools.
Accompanied by Quanzhou Ocean Vocational College President Zhuang Weilian and Vice President Chen Yongxin, the delegation visited the school’s Huawei Artificial Intelligence Training Centre, the World Special Ship Showroom, the VLCC Full-Mission Engine Simulation Training Room, the iFlytek Simultaneous Interpretation Smart Classroom, the “Yuhang” Training Ship, the 360° Ship Manoeuvring Training Room and other special teaching scenes.
The two sides held a symposium in the VIP room of the library. President Zhuang Weilian introduced the college’s characteristics and internationalisation strategy in detail, and President Dr. Amiya Bhaumik shared LUC’s practical experience in international education and talent integration development. Dr. Zoensek Lea, Global Ambassador, United Nations Association and Dean, School of Innovation and Sustainable Development of LUC, and Chen Lingfeng, Executive Director, International Economic Technology and Industrial Innovation Cooperation Platform, and other foreign representatives had in-depth dialogues with our school on professional construction, industry-education collaboration, scientific research cooperation, talent training and other content.
After the symposium, President Zhuang Weilian and Dr. Amiya Bhaumik jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two schools. The two sides formally established a strategic cooperation framework in the fields of teacher-student exchanges, joint scientific research, and curriculum co-construction.
